Birmingham is a 35-minute drive north up the A435 / M42. We cover the full city, B-postcodes north of B98, residential solar, commercial flat-roof arrays and EV charger installs across the patch.
Local context
Birmingham is the UK's second city and the biggest single catchment in our 50-mile radius. The drive from our Beoley, Redditch workshop is a straight 35-minute run up the A435 and onto the M42, reachable for survey-day visits without disrupting the rest of the day. We service the central B-postcodes (B1 through B19) plus the outer rings, Edgbaston, Harborne, Selly Oak, Moseley, Kings Heath, Bournville, Hall Green, Yardley, Erdington, Sutton Coldfield, Sheldon, and across the south-Birmingham corridor toward Solihull.
Birmingham's housing stock is the most varied of any city we serve, and that's directly relevant to a solar install. The Edwardian and Victorian terraces in Moseley, Kings Heath, Selly Park and Bournville almost always need a consumer-unit upgrade alongside a solar PV install, the original wiring simply won't take a modern hybrid inverter. The interwar semis in Hall Green, Yardley and the Tyburn corridor are the sweet spot for solar, large south-facing roof pitches, deep eaves, plenty of room for a 4 to 6 kWp array. Newer apartment blocks in the Jewellery Quarter, Eastside and Digbeth lean heavily into EV chargers (we install a lot of OZEV-grant Zappi and Wallbox units in residents' parking) and are increasingly fitting hybrid solar with shared battery storage.
Battery storage demand has grown sharply in Birmingham over the past 18 months. Tesla Powerwall 3, EcoFlow and Fox ESS are our most popular picks for the area, and we offer whole-home backup in the larger detacheds around Edgbaston, Harborne and the southern suburbs where occasional storm-related grid outages make backup genuinely useful.
Commercial Birmingham is a separate, fast-growing line of work for us. Local schools (especially academies under MAT funding pressure to cut energy costs), retirement and care homes, small SMEs, retail-park flat-roof units. We've quoted commercial solar across Tyseley, Erdington, Selly Oak, Hockley and the Jewellery Quarter. Free site survey across all B-postcodes within our 50-mile radius, no commitment.
Transport-wise we're 35 minutes from the centre via M42 J3, 40 minutes to the Bullring or Mailbox area in light traffic. We always quote drive times honestly, evening rush is sometimes another 20 minutes either way and we plan around it.
