What data we collect
We collect personal data when you:
- Submit a quote or contact form, we collect your name, email, phone number, postcode and any details you volunteer about your property or project.
- Email, call or message us directly, we keep a record of that correspondence.
- Browse the site, our hosting provider and analytics tools record basic technical information (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). See our Cookie Policy for detail.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 16.
How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Respond to quote requests and questions you send us.
- Prepare and deliver written quotes, site surveys and installation paperwork.
- Keep records of work we have carried out on your property (installation certificates, commissioning records, aftercare).
- Comply with our legal, regulatory and accreditation obligations (MCS, NAPIT, HMRC).
- Improve the website and the information we publish, based on aggregated, anonymised analytics.
Legal basis
We process your personal data under the following lawful bases in UK GDPR Article 6:
- Consent, when you submit a quote or contact form, you are consenting to us contacting you about that enquiry.
- Performance of a contract, once you engage us to carry out work, we process data to deliver that work.
- Legal obligation, we must retain installation records to comply with MCS/NAPIT rules, tax law and warranty claims.
- Legitimate interest, aggregated analytics that help us understand how the site is used. We only do this where our interests do not override your rights.
Who we share your data with
We only share your personal data with service providers that help us run our business:
- Vercel Inc., our website host.
- Resend and Slack Technologies, when the form-handling pipeline is wired, to deliver your form submissions to our inbox.
- Plausible Analytics and Vercel Analytics , privacy-respecting analytics providers.
- Trustpilot, our reviews are hosted on their platform and we embed their widget on the site.
- DNO (Distribution Network Operator), MCS, HMRC and other regulators, where we are legally required to share installation records.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever. We do not use it for cross-site advertising.
How long we keep your data
- Quote / enquiry data (no work booked): kept for 24 months then deleted.
- Installation records (work carried out): kept for 25 years in line with panel warranty periods and regulatory requirements.
- Financial records: kept for 7 years in line with HMRC requirements.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Ask us to delete your data, where we are not legally required to retain it.
- Object to, or restrict, processing.
- Port your data to another provider.
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent.

Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, role-based access to our systems, and reputable cloud providers for storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours as safe as we can.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please contact us first and we’ll do everything we can to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law evolves. The “last updated” date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be flagged on the home page.
